Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Spayer received her Animal Science degree in 1999, and her DVM degree in 2008 from the University of IL. Dr. Spayer brings a new generation of medical skills and compassionate care for pets in a family friendly environment. Dr. Spayer and her husband Matt were born and raised in Spring Valley. She graduated from Hall High School. Their daughter Madeline, born in 2002, loves animals just like her parents.
They have several pets at home including:

Vicki Ehrhardt

Putnam County Animal Control & Receptionist

Vicki was born and raised in Putnam County and lived most of her life there with her husband and former owner of McNabb Veterinary, John M. Ehrhardt. In 2001 they purchased the home in McNabb that was built by the original veterinarian in McNabb, Dr. A.B. Pletsch, and are residing there along with their Scottish Terrier named (what else), Scotty. They have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. In their free time, you will find them restoring their 90 year old home, flea marketing, and antiquing.

Lee McQuilkin

Certified Veterinary Technician

Lee is a local boy, who grew up on a farm just outside of Magnolia. After high school he spent 4 years in the Coast Guard as a cook. He then lived in several different states with a variety of professions until returning home to work for Dr. Ehrhardt’s purebred swine farm as head herdsman. At Dr. Ehrhardt’s urging and Lee’s love for animals, Lee graduated with honors from Joliet Junior College Veterinary Technician Program . Lee’s hobbies are camping, fishing and almost any outdoor activity. Lee has 1 dog – Lucky, the border collie.  There are 11 horses and ponies on the family farm where Lee lives.

Kelley Larimer

Receptionist

Kelley has been employed at McNabb Veterinary since August, 1999. She is also a Pre-School Director/Teacher in the mornings (since 1980). Kelley laughs about being bitten at the school, but not yet at the clinic. Kelley and her husband, Don, live in the rural Varna , and have 3 children. They also have a cat named Hemi and a dog named Dipsy. She stays busy attending her family’s sports/school events and  in her spare time, she enjoys doing landscape work in her yard and scrap booking.
